GET MORE Idea: Referral Thank You

 

You get a referral or two or three from a loyal client.  Immediately,thank them on the phone, thank them in a letter or card, thank them the next time you see them on the street or at renewal time.  They’ll keep giving you quality referrals. It’s guaranteed!  And, as we all know, referrals are the major source of new business for established agents.  Here’s a time-tested letter that works for many of our customers. It’s short but sweet. 

 

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REFERRAL LETTER 

 

Dear Jim: 

Thanks for referring Jack and Jill Hill to us. I really appreciate your thinking of me.  You helped make my day when you called.  I value the confidence you have placed in our agency. We will follow up promptly and contact the Hills to see how we may be of service.  Please know that we will keep you posted as well. 

You are an A-One client.

PS  I’ve attached a lottery ticket as a token of our appreciation.  Thanks a million, and good luck!

  

This is just one way of saying thank you.  I’m sure you can come up with a home-grown approach that works just as well or better.  The important point: is set up a referral thank you process that is as regular as Tuesday following Monday. You’ll get more referrals and new business. Guaranteed.

 

 

Be sure to check your state insurance regulations. In some states, giving out a lottery ticket may be considered rebating.  Figure out what appropriate (and legal) small token of appreciation you can enclose with a letter or note.
