Good Neighbor program works 

Your agency just closed a new account in a neighborhood that you would like to “mine” for more business.  The neighborhood has the A-type of home and auto customers you want. 

Take a leaf from the real estate agent playbook:  Send out a targeted postcard mailing to homes located on the same street as the new customer.   

The message might go something like this:  

We are pleased to announce that we are now insuring the home of one of your good neighbors.  If you are looking for a second opinion on your homeowner and auto coverages, call us at 000-000-0000 or send us an e-mail at _________.   

We’re proud to say that we are a local independent agent that has been serving the insurance needs of Anytown families with distinction since 19---. 

The postcard does not have to be fancy.  Produce a standard postcard with your logo, positioning line, product listing.  Oh, and make sure that you invite recipients to visit your Web site---this is VERY important because it gives the recipient a chance to qualify you as worthy of a call or e-mail.
