The power of “thank you”

 

 
The most important single word in the English language is “you.”  The most important two words are “thank you.”  Are you taking full advantage of “thank you” moments that build customer satisfaction and referrals? 

 For starters, if you are mailing or calling to say “thank you”, do it within 24 hours. Your fast response will stick in the mind of the customer or prospect who receives it for a long time. The message: “We care.” 

Thank You moments 

There are many.  Each presents an opportunity to cement relationships and keep customers coming back because they know you care. 

“Thank your taking the time to see me yesterday."

Thank you for joining me for lunch.” 

“Thank you for referring your good friend to me.” 

“Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.” 

“Thank you for visiting our Web site.”

 “Thank you for your continued confidence in our agency.” 

“Thank you for inviting us to submit this proposal.” 

“Thank you for giving us your policy expiration date.” 

“Thank you for selecting us to be your insurance counselor.” 

“Thank you for placing your homeowner’s insurance with us.” 

And so on.   

 

Why not…?

. Handwrite “thank yous” on agency letters and memos 

. Include “thank yous” as a P.S. in letters 

. Print or stamp “thank yous” on the back of envelopes 

. Stamp “thank you for your business” on dec pages 

. Include “thank you” notes with all renewals

. Prepare agency countercards that say, “We appreciate 

  your business. Thank you!” 

 

We also suggest the purchase of Thank You cards that are designed for a handwritten personal message inside.  Distribute them to your producers, CSRs, claims processors…everyone who has direct contact with customers and prospects.
